Blender is a free opensource 3D suite.
Blender was originally developed by Dutch company NeoGeo, then made available as a commercial product by subsidiary Not A Number. When NaN shut down, one of its founders set up the not-for-profit Blender Foundation and worked to raise funds to buy the rights to Blender. Consequently, Blender is now under the GNU General Public License which makes it open source and free for anyone to use.
In 2008 Blender and Big Buck Bunny have made the 12th place of the annual CG Retrospective!
Look at these movies to understand Blender potentiality.

Yes! It's possible to write some very interesting things in Silverlight using PHP!!!
This is done using Phalanger. Take a look at this tutorial.
From Phalanger site:
"Phalanger is a new PHP implementation introducing the PHP language into the family of compiled .NET languages. It provides PHP applications an execution environment that is fast and extremely compatible with the vast array of existing PHP code. Phalanger gives web-application developers the ability to benefit from both the ease-of-use and effectiveness of the PHP language and the power and richness of the .NET platform taking profit from the best from both sides."
